What We Do

One of the fascinating things about putting together the database for the Benevolent Postcard Society has been seeing not only how diverse we are in terms of where we live, but what we do, too. I thought it might be interesting for other members to have a sense of what we each do to make a living, too — feel free to share in the comments below. And me? I'm a collage illustrator.

Hi :)
I am a primary school teacher (children aged 4-12 years) with three degrees behind me. Having said that, I am currently immersed in a year off and am loving dog-training, furniture restoring, interior designing and baking (all around my own home). I am hoping my future life will include photographer, masseuse and house flipper.

I'm currently 'in between jobs' but I've nearly finished my first novel :) Besides that I truly love writing myself, I'm helping other (struggling) writers as a proofreader or editor on a freelance basis.

Oops! I'm a bit late here!

I'm a wife to Chief Bumpy and a "mother" to two German Shepherd puppies.

Since we move from country to country so much (because we like it), it's hard to have a "real, grown up" job.

So, I practice my photography, dabble in the kitchen, and read.

Cheers!

I'm at a crossroads. Technically still employed as a Tax Consultant with a large accounting firm, but poor health has me on extended sick leave. Am 60,000 words into my first novel: I love to write! Also, to cook, watch things grow, take cycle rides when health permits, be present with my animals.

I'm an artist in need of a real job. Also a university student in anthropology, textile artist, seamstress, and sometimes wage labour peon or waitress. Though I actually love food service. I also draw cartoons, write, and am unfathomably excited by textiles.

To pay my bills, I work for a wedding website company doing mostly customer service. However, I consider myself an artist at heart and maybe someday that will pay my bills :) You can see examples of my art at ambalogic.com/melanie and in the postcards I am sending.
