Monday on Instagram
Today on Instagram I'm sharing the postcard collection of Karyn in California. To have a look, you can follow me on Instagram here — or you can just do a quick search under #benevolentpostcardsociety or #bps if you prefer not to follow me directly (it's set up as my personal Instagram account). Hope you enjoy them. Shown here — a real vintage postcard from Selen in Ankara, Turkey and a daring solo balloonist from Jasmin in California.

Today on Instagram
Today on the BPS on Instagram I'm sharing the postcard collection of Jennifer in Alberta. To have a look, you can follow me on Instagram here — or you can just do a quick search under #benevolentpostcardsociety or #bps if you prefer not to follow me directly (it's set up as my personal Instagram account). Hope to see you there!
P.S. Once a member's collection has been featured on Instagram, I'm mailing them straight back home to them again. A little FYI. :)

The BPS on Instagram
I'm very excited to tell you about the BPS on Instagram! Every week I'll be sharing the collection of an individual BPS member, so you'll be able to see the amazing variety of postcards we all sent to each other over the duration of the project. Today I'm kicking things off with all the postcards sent to Rachael in California. You can follow me on Instagram here — or you can just do a quick search under #benevolentpostcardsociety or #bps if you prefer not to follow me directly (it's set up as my personal Instagram account). Hope to see you there!

Postcard Returns
My sincere apologies for neglecting the BPS blog for so long — work and life have a way of sidelining projects that are done for sheer pleasure alone, and the BPS book is sadly still waiting for me. I have a basket chest of your beautiful postcards still waiting patiently to be scanned, but happily I now have a fantastic new backup drive to store them on and can finally start returning your postcards. If you've moved or have a new email address since we've last been in touch, please drop me a line at benevolentpostcard(at)gmail(dot)com with your new address so I can be sure to get them to you. Thanks as always for your stellar patience — you are all amazing.

BPS Flickr News!

Now that things are beginning to calm down a little around here, I'd like to open up the BPS Flickr group so that members can post their own postcard photos. If you'd like to upload your own pix, email me and I'll send you an invite for the BPS Flickr group!
P.S. Did you see Hedy's sweet New Year comment below? If you still haven't received a December postcard, be sure to check out her lovely and generous offer!

BPS on Flickr

I've been hearing from a few of you that the first postcards are starting to arrive now! And though many postcards are still steadily making the journey to their (distant) destinations, I thought I'd remind you today of the brand new BPS Flickr group, where we'll be sharing photos of the ones we've received (see my post The Well Traveled Postcard). If you'd like to share a snapshot of a postcard in its new home — and this is completely optional — email me your photo!
P.S. Just uploaded the first one — thanks, Teri!
P.P.S. Please note that the photos on the Flickr site are of just the front of the postcard — photos of both the front and back will appear in the book at the end of the project (so you'll have even more to look forward to later!)

The Well Traveled Postcard

Have you seen the wonderful film Amélie? Of course you have. Remember how Amélie's dad kept getting baffling photos of his missing garden gnome from all over the world? Well, one of the fun things we're going to do here is start a Flickr group which will feature snapshots of the postcards in their new surroundings — so a postcard from (for example) Canada will be photographed against its new Swiss background. More on this later this month, when we start receiving our postcards ...
:-)
P.S. BPS member Alex blogged yesterday about the postcard she just sent on her lovely Make, Do and Send blog — you can see her inspired September postcard here. Thanks so much for sharing, Alex — such a great idea!
